Wow has it really been that long? 3 weeks without a blog post mmm...BUT I do have my excuses ready. It has been a chaotic month with Uni assessments piling up non-stop, busy days at work and a series of unexpected events popping up. In that crazy process, unfortunately I have neglected my blog however luckily my stomach was still being treated to alot of delicious food. After all, a girl's gotta eat. With an increasing amount of backlog posts, it was almost difficult to choose which one to blog about first. In the end, I thought I'd do a recent one first as it was for a very special event.
M & I celebrated our two years anniversary last week at a beautiful restaurant we both can barely pronounce - Guillaume at Bennelong. We like to call it "the opera house restaurant that was on Masterchef".

NaruOne Korean Restaurant
When almost every food blogger you follow on Instagram and Twitter goes nuts over a certain restaurant, claiming that they have the best Korean Fried Chicken, it's only a matter of time before the domino effect takes place and everyone is keen to try it out - including myself. NaruOne is a Korean restaurant subtly located on Pitt Street and is currently acclaimed for its fried chicken madness. Do note that the message has spread and you will find yourself in a line upon arrival - so come early and grab yourself a spot!

El Loco at Slip Inn
A few weeks ago I was invited to a Blogger Fiesta dinner at El Loco at the Slip Inn, which is now a permanent fixture. Considering the fact that I have never even been to the Surry Hills one before, you could say that I was very much delayed in trying out the infamous tacos from El Loco and hence I was super duper excited! Looking at the image below, you can conclude that my excitement was valid - it was a truly tantalising feast of mouth-watering dishes that left me in one massive food coma afterwards.

Taste Of Sydney 2013
Almost one month ago, M and I went to our first Taste of Sydney event. It's an annual celebration and premier food festival at the iconic Centennial Park, with lots of amazing restaurants involved, to showcase the diversity of Sydney's delectable food scene. I remember us salivating over numerous images on food blogs over last year's event and vowing that in 2013 WE WOULD BE THERE NO MATTER WHAT.
The Verdict? It was truly a delight to our senses and worth every single penny to go!

Domino's New Chef's Best Range
I don't normally review things like this but when your favourite pizza chain rocks up with a new range of pizzas, claiming that it wil be a game changer for the Australian pizza industry - you've got my attention. CUE: Domino's New Chef's Best Range.

Chanoma Cafe
Let's face it, it's no secret that new places (restaurants) excite me. Especially under the powerful influence of Instagram, one filtered image after the other, of matcha frappes and interesting-looking hot dogs, I was deeply intrigued. Chanoma Cafe is the new Japanese eatery at Regent Place, next to Event Cinemas on George Street in the city. Essentially it has replaced the old Azuma Patisserie store, which has now relocated across the street. If you're a big fan of traditional green tea/matcha and unconventional hot dogs - this is the place for you.

Kingsleys Steak & Crabhouse
Wow it's been 2 weeks since I last blogged and yes, the guilt did creep in everytime I told myself "I'll do a post tomorrow...soon...when I get the time..." I have been so busy juggling uni and work that I never really took the time out to mention something significant - on the 3rd March 2013, JENisHUNGRY officially turned 1. M and I had to postpone our celebatory dinner for the happy occasion but it was all worth it once we seated outself next to Woolloomooloo Wharf, at Kingsleys Steak & Crahouse, ready to embask ourselves in our favourite food of all time - steak and crab!

Kofoo
What do you get when you go to a restaurant only to find that their menu has over 100 options on offer and it's literally just you and one other person? The first thought that popped into my head was LETS CALL UP ALL OUR FRIENDS SO WE CAN TRY EVERY SINGLE DISH HERE. Ok, making unrealistic plans in your head does not help make ordering any easier.
Kofoo is a relatively new Korean Restaurant that has opened up at Sussex Street in the City and offers a refreshing take on your typical Korean Cuisine - think rustic decors, colourful pops of colour, a vibey atmoshere, fusion dishes vs. good old classics and super passionate staff who hi 5 you on the way out!

Palings Kitchen & Bar
When I first heard that there was a new restaurant in town at Ivy by the name of Palings Kitchen and Bar I was beyond ecstatic. I literally looked up the number for the place and made a booking for the same night on the spot! However as many may warn, high expectations can often lead to disappointment...

BLACK by ezard
Most of my friends (even those in a relationship) regard 14th February as a day of dread.
Premium chocolate bouquets, restaurants ripping you off with their set menus, florists jacking up their prices like there's no tomorrow and then there's the spread of Hallmark domination at newsagencies. I on the other hand, am an absolutely sucker for this kind of thing. After all, what's not to love abut roses, chocolates and extra romance?
Situated within The Star, BLACK by ezard was our restaurant of choice this year for the special occasion :)

Bangkok Snap
In the past, I was never super excited about Thai food (many may gasp at such a shocking statement) but recently thanks to a dear friend of mine, J, I have been converted wholeheartedly. Whether it's a good old classic such as Pad See Ew, a creamy Curry or a refreshing Papaya Salad...there is something to suit any tastebud. Bangkok Snap is the new Thai food hot spot in Strathfield, adding a touch of culinary diversity to the otherwise-mostly-Korean dining landscape.

Tokonoma Lounge
Trying out Tokonoma was probably one of the best food-decisions I've made this year. Not only is this restaurant/lounge super stylish and cool, the food is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING and worth every penny. I'm talking fabulous entrees that look too pretty to eat, sensational mains that deludes your stomach to expand in size and dangerously seductive desserts that will have you craving more. Convinced? Dial 9357 6100 to make a booking right now or hit the Read More button to be persuaded :)

Din Tai Fung
I'm sure Din Tai Fung is a familiar name that will ring a bell in most people's minds, especially Sydney dumpling-lovers and fellow foodies. Situated in three prominent locations - World Square, The Star & Westfield Pitt St Mall - this place is acclaimed for its Xiao Long Baos (Steamed Dumplings) and attracts lines like no other.

Catalina
Every year I always get super excited for Christmas Eve and on the 24th December 2012, it was extra special as M & I celebrated the occasion at the beautiful Catalina restaurant. We had an exquisite 3 course meal against a stunning backdrop of Sydney's landmark Rose Bay site with clear blue skies and glistening waters to match - we couldn't have asked for a more perfect finish to the year.

Highlights of 2012 - Instagram Cut!
Wow what a whirlwind of a year...2012 was definitely a significant, eventful and busy one. Not only did I turn 20 but it was also the year that I started my food blog - precisely on the 3rd of March 2012. I then became acquainted with Instagram somewhere along the way and ever since, it has acted as a sort of food/life timeline for me.
I have been so lucky this year to have eaten so much delicious food - both savoury and sweet! So what were some highlights?

Ms.G's
Who knew that on the quiet and apparently sort of seedy Victoria Street, located 5 minutes from Kings Cross Station, a place with a small pink neon sign by the name of Ms. G's would cause such a stir amongst the Sydney dining scene. Yes my friends, I have finally acquainted myself with this super high-profile restaurant, led by none other than the famous Dan Hong.

China Doll
Christmas always signals for an exciting period of the year...there's bubbly, good food, laughter and at the end of it, there's usually a holiday break for most people :) This year was quite special for me because it was the first official Christmas work lunch I attended and we were lucky enough to go to China Doll at the beautiful Woolloomooloo Wharf for the occasion!

Ippudo
Situation: New Japanese Ramen joint has opened up at Westfield Pitt St Mall, stirring up the latest hype with fellow Instagrammers and Tweeters who are not shy of sharing all the mouthwatering images.
How I respond to the situation: RUN TO WESTFIELD AFTER WORK TO GET INTO IPPUDO!
Yes I am a sucker for new restaurants, particularly Japanese, and I succomb to the power of marketing and social media.

Bodega
Bodega has always been at the top of my list for Spanish Tapas and one lovely Friday evening, my closest girlfriends and I finally ventured out to Surry Hills to try it out! We were so lucky to get a parking spot right outside the restaurant - it was indeed a great start to our feasting ahead :)
